About The Gardener’s Cottage
The Gardener’s Cottage was opened in 1997 by wonderfully talented flower designer Bee Sieburg with the idea of being solely a flower shop. Joined soon after by her daughter Molly Courcelle, the shop grew into a beautiful retail space as well and has been a fixture of Historic Biltmore Village ever since.
Seven years into their ownership, Bee and Molly decided to sell the business to sisters Laura Belsinger (who was working for Bee and Molly at the time) and Libby Endry. They excitedly took over in 2004 and today the shop continues to be a place where locals and visitors alike come to find that special gift for someone, interesting piece for their home or garden or simply for a bit of inspiration.
Their focus is on finding nature inspired gifts, unusual varieties of houseplants and orchids, pieces by local artists...anything out of the ordinary!
The Gardener’s Cottage also specializes in naturally elegant flower design, even taking to the woods for interesting design elements. Whether it’s a wedding or small gathering, even the smallest of details are taken into account so that your event stands out and comes together perfectly.
We hold workshops, classes and other special events seasonally as well.
So come and be inspired!
Our Gardener’s Cottage Family
Libby Endry has owned The Gardener's Cottage since 2004. Although never intending to become a flower designer, Libby's love for flowers began at a young age, most notably when visiting her great grandparent's property on Soldiers Creek, AL.
Her great grandmother, an avid gardener and Ikebana flower designer, grew many varieties of camellias that quickly became her favorite flower and remain so today.
Libby began designing flowers under the mentorship of original shop owner and renowned flower designer Bee Sieburg, who remains a significant part of the shop family today.
From her youth growing up on the Gulf Coast of Florida to her current home in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, Libby is constantly inspired by the many different landscapes of nature and implements that into her design.
Flower Team Leader
Martha Collett has been a part of our flower team since 2009 and plays a vital role in helping Libby plan and execute events. Martha’s exceptional eye for design and “up for the challenge” attitude makes her the perfect flower partner! Martha also helps lead workshops and classes and other special events that the shop holds.
Alice Cary has been keeping The Gardener’s Cottage in tip top shape for 7 years now! With a background in design, she’s exceptional at helping clients find just the right thing for their home and loves sharing her vision and ideas.
Look out for her adorable King Charles Cavalier, Emmy Lou, who moonlights as “shop dog” from time to time.
Libby’s mom and Holiday Open House executive chef
Despite living all the way in Florida, Libby’s mom Susan Endry drives up every year for our Holiday Open House with a car full of homemade refreshments that she's worked tirelessly on to serve for this big event. It simply would NOT be the same without her. Her food became so popular in fact that people began requesting a cookbook, which she made happen!
A master gardener as well, she’s always willing to lend a hand and get dirty whenever she’s in town. Also always willing to lend a hand is Libby’s dad Joe Endry who can be found doing anything from fixing something around the shop or even helping out on wedding crew! Even though Libby’s family lives in Florida this is still truly a family business.
